About The Event

Saksham Pedal Delhi is India's Premier Cyclothon, that propagates the importance of fuel conservation and efficient energy utilization among the citizens of our nation's capital.

In an effort to instill socio-environmental consciousness, Saksham Pedal Delhi was launched by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) in collaboration with DoIT Sports and OIL & Gas companies.

PCRA was set up in 1978 under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India which is engaged in promoting energy efficiency in various sections of the economy.

The iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will host the event, scheduled for the 7th October 2018 and will also create a competitive platform for India's finest elite athletes. In association with Meraki Sport & Entertainment and Times of India, Saksham Pedal Delhi will leverage sport to create mass awareness for the conservation of petroleum products.

With the technical expertise of the Cycling Federation of India, Saksham Pedal Delhi will see participation in excess of 6000 cyclists across 4 race categories:

  • Elite - Criterium race for athletes registered to and/or licensed by CFI
  • Amateur – A competitive timed mass-start race, with 2 subcategories: -
    • Road
    • MTB / Hybrid
  • Open Ride - Timed non-competitive race, open to cycling enthusiasts across age groups
  • Green Ride – Non-timed participative event category, to experience the joy of cycling
